JPG vs PNG — What's the Difference?
JPG uses lossy compression — great for photos but not ideal for logos or graphics with sharp edges. PNG uses lossless compression and supports transparency (alpha channel), making it perfect for logos, icons, web graphics, and any image that needs a transparent background.
Convert JPG to PNG when you need transparency, sharper text or edges, or when you'll be editing and re-saving the image multiple times (PNG avoids the quality loss that accumulates with multiple JPG saves). PNG is also the preferred format for screenshots, diagrams, and any image containing text.

Does converting lose quality?
Converting from a lossy format (JPG) to a lossless one (PNG) won't recover lost data, but won't degrade it further. Converting PNG→JPG will apply minimal compression at high quality (90%) so results look identical to the eye. Converting to WebP is also done at high quality (92%).
Are my images stored after conversion?
No. All uploaded files are processed securely and deleted immediately after conversion. We never store your images on our servers.
What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?
JPG does not support transparency. Any transparent areas in your PNG or WebP file will be replaced with a white background in the converted JPG. If you need to preserve transparency, convert to PNG or WebP instead.
Is there a file size limit for conversion?
